Marion E. Dahlberg

Marion E. Dahlberg, age 92, of New London, died Sunday, July 1, 2012 at the GlenOaks Care Center in New London.  Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, July 6, 2012 at Peace Lutheran Church in New London. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday at the Johnson Funeral Home in New London and for one hour prior to the service at the church.  Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery in New London. 

Marion Eileen Dahlberg was born on December 11, 1919 in Atwater, the daughter of Julius and Clara (Anderson) Miller.  She grew up in the Atwater and New London area where she attended and graduated from New London High School in 1938.  On June 2, 1940, Marion was united in marriage to Dennis A. Dahlberg in New London.  To this union two daughters and one son were born.  They made their home in New London where she worked as a homemaker and cook for the New London-Spicer Grade School.  Marion and Dennis were able to share in 52 years of marriage before his death on April 18, 1993. 

Marion was an active member of Peace Lutheran Church where she served in W.E.L.C.A. She enjoyed traveling, reading, embroidery, quilting, crafts and old time music.  She is remembered for her unconditional love for her children and grandchildren.  She was a hostess at heart and loved to cook and host family and friends whenever possible. 

Marion died on Sunday, July 1, 2012 at GlenOaks Care Center in New London at the age of 92.  She is survived by children, Carol Horner, Gary (Kathy) Dahlberg and Laurie (Keith) Hanson; 10 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Betty Miller and brother-in-law, David (adn Carol) Dahlberg and numerous nieces and nephews. 

Marion was preceded in death by her husband, Dennis; two great-grandchildren; four brothers and one sister.
