George and Inger (Amundson) Broughton. She grew up on the family
farm and attended District #3 for her schooling.
On February 26, 1930, Myrtle was united in marriage to Nels
Anderson at the parsonage in Cottonwood, Minnesota. Following
their marriage they farmed the Anderson home farm for five years
prior to moving to northern Minnesota where they farmed by Goodridge
for several years. They then bought a farm near Thief River Falls
where they farmed for 40 years. In 1979 they retired and moved
to Willmar where they were caretakers of the 407 building of
Cardinal Apartments for 15 years. Nels died on March 4, 1994.

she served as secretary-treasure of the mission group and also
was active with the care group at church. She was a member of
Assembly of God in Willmar at the time of her death. Myrtle’s
faith in God was always evident, gently conveyed, and shared
freely with a big smile! One story which illustrates her faith
so well occurred when she and Nels were married only a few years.
They started their life together during the Great Depression
and one day discovered they had 15 cents left in the world. Myrtle’s
solution was to put it in the offering plate. She always told
the story by adding what happened next ~ God blessed them by
sending the means necessary to purchase a farm.
Myrtle loved to crochet, tat and quilt. She gave many of her
works to her church, family and friends. When they were first
married, Nels was in town with a pair of mittens that Myrtle
made for him, spinning the wool into yarn on her spinning wheel
and then knitting them. The people in town saw these nice mittens
and asked Nels where he bought them, and he told them that Myrtle
made them. That winter, Myrtle spun more yarn and made mittens,
using the money to pay for their winter groceries. Myrtle will
be remembered by those around her for her kind and gentle way,
always smiling and never wanting to be a burden to anyone. Whenever
you visited her it did not matter if you were there 5 minutes
or for several hours, she always thanked you for coming and taking
the time to stop.
She is survived by her sisters-in-law, Adeline Broughton of
Minneota and Lila Anderson of Cottonwood; nieces and nephews
and other family and friends.

Medical Center. Services will be 10:00 am, Friday, February 16,
2007 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Raymond. Burial will
be in Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery in Little Falls. Visitation
will be one hour prior to services at the church on Friday. Arrangements
are with Harvey Anderson Funeral Home in Willmar. Memorials preferred
in lieu of flowers to Rejoice Lutheran Church, Clearwater, St.
John’s Lutheran Church, Raymond or Hospice.
Dennis was born on December 23, 1934, to Morrel and E. Viola
(Hegdahl) Agre. He was raised on a farm in rural Sacred Heart,
Minnesota along with an older sister, Beverly and 3 younger brothers,
Wayne, Tom, and David. He was involved in 4-H with beef cattle
and helped his dad cut ice out of the lake to sell for refrigeration
purposes.
Having a ‘wicked’sense of humor and an ability to
create things, Dennis was a master mechanic. He could tinker
with things and suddenly it was repaired or something new had
been invented. Having been the oldest of four brothers, maybe
this came naturally.
On May 4, 1956, Dennis married Linda Boelter at St. John’s
Lutheran Church in Raymond, MN. Dennis joined the military in
1958, stationed first at Fort Eustis, Virginia and then at Atlanta
General Depot, Forest Park, Georgia. While in Georgia, Dennis
and Linda had a daughter, Denise. After Dennis served his term
in the military, he and Linda moved to Raymond, Minnesota where
they had another daughter, Darcy. Dennis was actively involved
in the Raymond Volunteer Fire Department, St. John’s Lutheran
Church, Sportsmen’s Club, and American Legion and was a
Golden Eagle Member.
Dennis went into a carpet installation business in 1965 with
a friend moving the family to Newport News, Virginia. While in
Virginia, Dennis was active with the Elks, Beechwood Swim Team
and the Girl Scouts, being made an ‘Honorary Girl Scout.’
In 1976, when Howard Boelter, Linda’s dad, retired from
the implement business, Dennis and Linda decided to move back
to Raymond and Dennis went into partnership in the family business
with Linda’s brother, Michael.
In 1995, Dennis retired. Linda retired shortly thereafter and
they purchased an Airstream Trailer. They sold their homestead
in Raymond and decided to travel as members of the Wally Byam
Airstream Club and the Escapees RV Club. They traveled all over
the country, usually wintering in Arizona and summering in Minnesota
at the Airstream Park in Clear Lake, MN.
In May of 2005, Dennis was diagnosed with a brain tumor. Dennis’final
months were spent at the Veterans Medical Center in St. Cloud,
in the Hospice Unit. Their 50th Wedding Anniversary was celebrated
at the VA facility by the staff.
Dennis left for his final Airstream Caravan on February 11,
2007. He is survived by his wife, Linda of Clear Lake; daughters,
Denise (and Kevin) Gill of Columbia, MO; Darcy (and Peter) Eigen
of Bowlus, MN; grandchildren, Tanner, Grant and Grace; brothers,
Wayne (and Carolyn) Agre of New London; Tom (and Barb) Agre of
