Linda was baptized and confirmed at Calvary Lutheran Church where she was a lifetime member. She had been active with the Calvary Quilters.
Linda’s life was satiated with her abounding enthusiasm to be forever creating. As a teen she produced numerous paintings and collages between writing volumes of poetry and developing invaluable black and white photographs of her loved ones. It was understandable from an early age that she was truly an artist.
In college her work turned to formation of scores of original puppet characters and their fanciful houses which were later used to delight and inspire generations of children at the Willmar Public Library.
Her puppet houses led to the construction of several distinctive dollhouses. Which were filled with handcrafted miniatures ranging from a minute tea bag filled with real tea to a black walnut desk that had its drawers filled with tiny file folders. In her imaginative world of witch puppets, dolls and pigs it was only natural that she would use her ample writing talents to pen dozens of picture books and children’s stories.
As if this was not enough for one person to produce, Linda also fabricated several miniature worlds from dough art, including a Santa Village and Alice in Wonderland landscapes.
Plus Linda always sewed and sewed. Inventing her own patterns for bears, mice and elephants, as well as clothing for her family and of course her renowned bold, bright colored quilts.
Her talents which she shared so generously will remain with us forever.

Bria Renee Doscher, 20 months, of Willmar died on Friday, July 13, 2007 at Rice Memorial Hospital in Willmar. Funeral service will be 11:00am on Wednesday, July 18, 2007 at Harvey Anderson Funeral Home in Willmar. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery in Willmar. Visitation will be from 5-7pm on Tuesday at Harvey Anderson Funeral Home in Willmar and will continue one hour prior to the service on Wednesday.
Bria Renee Doscher was born on November 3, 2005 at Rice Memorial Hospital in Willmar, Minnesota, the daughter of Nathan and Kristal (McVinua) Doscher. She was baptized on February 26, 2006 in Benson, Minnesota.
She is survived by her parents of Willmar, paternal grandparents: Gene and Dianne Doscher of Benson maternal grandmother Carolyn McVinua of Willmar and several aunts, uncles, cousins and other relatives.
Bria was preceded in death by her grandfather Roger McVinua. I was born November 3, 2005 in Willmar, Minnesota to my Mommy and Daddy. We arrived at the hospital at 6:15pm and I was born at 6:56pm, bound and determined to be Miss Independent!
I warned Mommy that I was coming, but not knowing what a contraction felt like, Mommy continued through the day before Daddy finally convinced her that it was time to head to the hospital. It was the longest ride of my Mommy’s life. Luckily, there were no trains and we got there in time, but Mommy still thought that Daddy drove a little too slow!
Arriving at the hospital, Mommy was able to walk into the ER. They took us up to a room and once Mommy could finally speak again, I heard her say “I want drugs.” I wonder why she said that?! The nurse checked on me and told her that I was coming. I’m not sure who was more shocked – Mommy or the nurse! “No drugs?”, Mommy said. “No drugs,” the nurse said.
After a few pushes, I finally arrived. I was a healthy 5 lb. 10 oz. baby girl. Their “Baby Bria”. While Mommy was relaxing at the hospital, Daddy was anxious to get home. So he packed up his Baby Bria and Mommy and we were home before noon. Mommy was a little concerned, being a new Mom and all, and not having a 24 hour nursing staff anymore, but Daddy said we would be alright. And we were!
I giggled and cooed and finally grew into my size newborn clothes. There were times my Mommy thought I was colicky, but Daddy said I was normal. After a few dietary changes, we were all much happier!
Just when they thought they had it all figured out, I decided that it was ok to wake up in the middle of the night. After many sleep deprived nights, you would have thought my parents would have been mad, but how could they be when I was so damn cute!
Mommy and Daddy had to go back to work. Fortunately, they found me the perfect daycare mom, Nancy, and the perfect daycare friends.
Daddy was in charge of getting me ready and taking me to Nancy’s in the morning. Mommy got to pick me up and make mental notes to let Daddy know that the tag of the shirt goes in the back. Daddy always said, “Whatever”, because he knew that I didn’t care.
I had lots of fun at daycare. I was on a different sleeping schedule than my friends, so I would go and visit everyone in their bed, bring them toys and sit on their heads. I would follow Princess around saying “puppy”, but she kept hiding under the table from me!
I had a lot of fun helping Mommy and Daddy empty the dishwasher, cooking with my pots and pans, blowing bubbles and picking people’s noses. I also loved watching “Jack’s Big Music Show”, going for walks, swimming, reading, sliding and swinging. I liked to help Mommy water the flowers and I also liked to “help” by picking the petals off Mommy’s daisies!
My cats, AJ and Q, were learning to love and tolerate me more and more. I think it helped that I shared my pudding with them! I really enjoyed having AJ sleep with me at night, but sometimes he would hog the crib!
I was my Mommy’s running coach, helping her get back into shape. There were times that I didn’t think we’d make it back home, but as long as I had my juice box and Dum-Dum, I was ok. The best part was that when Mommy caught her breath again, we’d stop by the lake to dip our feet and throw rocks and sticks in the water.
I was Mommy and Daddy’s little miracle, their little angel, their Baby Bria! And even though I wasn’t here very long, I know I touched a lot of people’s lives.
I am survived by my Mommy and Daddy, Nana and Papa, Grammy, aunts and uncles, cousins and many special friends.
My family expresses our deep appreciation for your prayers, loving friendship, kindness along the way, and expressions of sympathy. God bless you all.
