Lorelee J Olson, 91, of Willmar, died Tuesday, March 19th at Copperleaf Senior Living in Willmar. Her memorial service will be at 11:00 am, Saturday, March 30th at United Methodist Church in Willmar. Visitation will be one hour prior to her service. Burial will be at Cloverleaf Cemetery in Willmar. Arrangements are with Harvey Anderson Funeral Home in Willmar, www.hafh.org
Lorelee Joanne Olson was born June 14, 1932, to Harold and Florence (Lipsit) Peterson in Willmar. She was baptized and later confirmed at United Methodist Church in Willmar. Lorelee attended Willmar Public Schools and graduated from high school in 1950.
On August 11, 1951, she was united in marriage to Edward Olson. They made their home in Willmar and Lorelee started working at the Bank of Willmar starting as a teller and eventually becoming a loan officer. She continued to work there for 30 years! She later worked for the railroad for a year before working for Ralph Hedlund as a financial advisor for 5 years.
Lorelee was active at United Methodist Church where she helped in many areas which include the Turkey dinner, working funerals and was on many committees. She was a lifelong member of the church and enjoyed the many friendships she made there.
She also enjoyed knitting, crocheting, gardening flowers, biking, bowling, watching the Vikings and Twins and spending winters in Fort Myers Beach, which they did for 20 years.
Lorelee is survived by her children: Ross (and Sharon) Olson of Willmar, Chad Olson of Montevideo; grandson, Eric Olson and great-grandchildren: Alexander and Grace McChesney and Roslyn Olson; and sister, Carol Gores.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward, parents, granddaughter, Nichole McChesney, great-granddaughter, Charlotte McChesney and siblings: Robert Peterson and Shirley Hulst.
