Andrew Lee Johnson was born on May 24th, 1990 to devoted parents Warren and Stacy Johnson of Pennock, MN and went to his home in Heaven on December 22nd, 2019. He was the loving older brother to Stuart (married to Samantha), Johanna (married to Riley), Simon, Paul (fiancée Rosemary), and Collin. He was adored by his niece, Stella, and nephews, Kenton and Richard.
Andrew loved the Christmas season with the lights, music, and lots of family. He was an extremely happy person; whose laugh was infectious and joyful! You could hear him laughing all through the house and we would always wonder what he thought was so funny! Over the years he enjoyed the newest members of the family when they would crawl around and over him, talk with him, attempt to play with his feeding tube, and smother him with kisses. Andrew gave the best wheelchair rides to kids who paid with a hug and a kiss. They would ride on his lap or climb on each side of his wheelchair. When he was young, Andrew would laugh so hard when we tickled him, and would even tickle himself until someone held his hands so he would stop to take a breath.
Andrew was named after the first Apostle Jesus called, Andrew, who was Peter’s brother. The Apostle Andrew introduced the other Apostles to Jesus and then quietly, diligently served Christ and did the work of Christ on Earth throughout his life. Andrew was born with partial Trisomy 18, which is a rare chromosome abnormality, but he was perfect in God’s eyes and ours. It is very uncommon for those who are born with this to live more than a couple days. Andrew exceeded all life expectancies and was cared for in his loving home. He helped us see the dignity that each person has and that every life has infinite worth and purpose whether anyone else can see it or not. God in His mercy gave us what we needed. He taught those around him what living a life of sacrificial, selfless love looked like in such a joyful way.
Surviving are his parents, Warren and Stacy Johnson of Pennock; siblings: Stuart (and Samantha) Johnson, niece, Stella, and nephew, Kenton; Johanna (and Riley) Peterson, Simon Johnson, Paul (and Rosemary), nephew, Richard Lee; and Collin Johnson. Also surviving are his grandparents: Richard and Paulette Collins of Spicer; and Ardell and Katie Johnson of Kerkhoven; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and other family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his cousin, Emma Benson.
