Audrey M. Ihlang, age 86 of New London, died Thursday, August 29, 2019, at GlenOaks Care Center in New London. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday, September 1, 2019, at Hope Presbyterian Church in Spicer. Visitation will be one hour prior to the services at church. Burial will be in Burbank Cemetery near New London. Arrangements are with the Johnson Funeral Home in New London. www.hafh.org
Audrey Maxine Ihlang was born on August 30, 1932, in New London, the daughter of Harold and Cora (Allpress) Barber. She grew up in New London and attended New London High School, graduating in 1951. On December 20, 1952, Audrey was united in marriage to Clinton Ihlang. They made their home in New London where she worked as a homemaker and cooked for several restaurants. She retired in 1997. Audrey and Beach shared in 61 years of marriage before his death on February 23, 2014.
Audrey was a member of Hope Presbyterian Church where she served as a deacon and in ladies’ aide. She was also a member of New London American Legion Auxiliary. Audrey was known in town for her cooking and baking.
Audrey died on Thursday morning, August 29, 2019, at GlenOaks Care Center in New London at the age of 86. She is survived by her children, Paula (Gordy) Sing of Bird Island and Kevin (Sheryl) Ihlang of Chanhassen; four grandchildren, Josh (Megan) Sing, Matt (Sarah) Sing, Nik Ihlang and Mitch Ihlang; great-grandchildren, Macie Sing, Aiden Sing, Jaxon Sing and Lauren Sing; and siblings, Duane (Vernie) Barber, David (Judy) Barber, James (Judy Barber and Gloria (Dan) Fostervold. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Clinton; brothers, Richard and Rodney; sisters-in-law, Janet Barber, Alice Barber, and Wanda Barber; and nephew, Steve Barber.
