Beverly Ann Hanson, 77, formerly of Big Stone, died Monday, July 22nd, at Sanford Medical Center in Sioux Falls. Her memorial service will be 4:00 pm, Saturday, July 27th at Harvey Anderson Funeral Home in Willmar. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Beverly Ann Hanson was born on June 8, 1942, to Lee Wesley and Elaine Rowe (Feuntes) Harrison in Leonard, Kansas. She grew up in Leonard where she attended elementary and high school. On January 1, 1971, Beverly was united in marriage to Lewellan “Lewie” Hanson in South Dakota. They briefly lived in the White Bear Lake before moving to the Willmar area, where they made their home. During this time, Beverly worked at Baywood Home Care, and Pearson Nut Company and once in Willmar she worked at Divine House. She enjoyed playing shortstop on a softball team when she was younger. She also enjoyed watching her grandchildren wrestle, play baseball and basketball. Beverly and Lewie also enjoyed traveling. Beverly traveled over one million miles going from state to state. She especially liked going to Oklahoma, Texas and Wisconsin. Beverly was known as a “social butterfly,” she easily made friends wherever they lived. She was also a wonderful caregiver. Beverly will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandma and friend.
Beverly is survived by her children: Tamara Lyons-Phillips, Lee Harrison, both of Eau Claire, WI, and Bambie (Mike) Whitcomb of Grove City; 50 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren and brother, Larry (Rozanne) Harrison.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lewellen, parents and sisters: Elaine and Shirley.
