Dean R Cordes

Dean R. Cordes, 56, of Willmar died July 2nd as the result of a work-related accident.  His funeral service will be 2:00 pm, Monday, July 8th at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Willmar.  Visitation will be from 5-7:00 pm, Sunday, July 7th at Harvey Anderson Funeral Home in Willmar and on Monday one hour prior to the service at the church.  Interment is in Clover Leaf Cemetery in Willmar.  Arrangements are with Harvey Anderson Funeral Home.  www.hafh.org

Dean Robert Cordes was born July 5, 1962, in Litchfield, MN, the son of Robert and Ruth (Doolittle) Cordes.  He grew up on a farm south of Grove City, MN, and graduated from Grove City High School with The Class of 1980.  On November 17, 1984, Dean was united in marriage to Cindy Schueler at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Willmar.  Following their marriage they made their home in Willmar. 

Dean drove semi-truck starting at the age of 18.  He was employed through the years by Green Lake Grain & Seed, Atwater Feed Mill, Odland Trucking and currently Willmar Logistics.  Dean also enjoyed working fall harvest at Kallevig Agri-Products for many years.  Dean enjoyed spending time with his family, fishing, watching Vikings Football, Wild Hockey and Twins Baseball, and cruising the Caribbean every winter. 

Surviving are his wife, Cindy of Willmar; children: Andrew Cordes of Willmar, Lacey (and David) Ellingson of Pennock, Matthew (and Alizabeth) Cordes of Grove City; grandchildren: Kaylee Cordes, Madisen and Chase Ellingson, and Sadie Cordes.  Also surviving are his parents, Robert and Ruth Cordes of Willmar; sisters, Cindy Lahr of Willmar, and Bobbie (and Elbert) Mahn of Spicer; in-laws, Norman and Carol Schueler of Willmar, Darla (and Mike) Reynolds of Willmar, Dan (and Melissa) Schueler of Spicer; and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Tom Lahr; and nephew, Stephen Reynolds.
