Deloria Jean Arends, 75, of Willmar, died Tuesday, July 16th at Bethesda Grand in Willmar after a brief battle with cancer. Her memorial service will be at 10:30 am, Friday, July 19th at First Presbyterian Church in Willmar. Visitation will be one hour prior to her service. Burial will be at Clover Leaf Cemetery in Willmar. Arrangements are with Harvey Anderson Funeral Home in Willmar. www.hafh.org
Deloria Jean Arends was born on October 27, 1943, to Reuben and Dorothea (Haymer) Nelson in Willmar. She attended school in Willmar and graduated from Willmar High School in 1961. On March 16, 1963, Deloria was united in marriage to Roger Arends. To this union three children were born: Michael, Deborah and Thomas. In 1963 Deloria and Roger made their home on a farm west of Willmar where Deloria continued to live until January 1, 2019. Deloria enjoyed spending time at home where she would sew, work on crafts, garden flowers, watch the Twins, and host many holiday gatherings. She had a sweet tooth and she was gifted at baking desserts. Deloria loved spending time with her family and her many cats. She was a loving wife, mom, grandma and friend.
Deloria is survived by her children: Michael (Julie) Arends of Willmar, Deborah (Jeff) Bush of Raymond, Thomas (Deb) Arends of Raymond; 7 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and twin sister, Delores (John) Heidecker of Pennock.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and brother.
