Dennis Eugene Geister was born in LeMars, IA on April 9, 1943 to LuVern and Lotus Geister.
As a young man Dennis resided in Cherokee, IA where he attended Immaculate Concepcion High School. After graduation, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps.
In 1963, Dennis married Sharon Meyer and they had two children. After years as a mechanic and a farmer, Dennis attended the University of South Dakota and majored in nursing. He went on to work as an RN in several specialized fields.
Dennis enjoyed his family and hobbies. He loved to plant flowers and vegetables in his garden. He shared the produce he grew with neighbors and the local food shelf. He also loved to tinker in the shop, build remote control airplanes and fly flight simulators with his online military friends. Dennis was always working on a computer or other projects on his workbench. He loved to go visit and everywhere he went, his companion Pepper, a mini schnauzer, was always at this side.
Dennis is survived by his son, Michael (Debra) Geister, daughter, Michelle Geister; grandchildren, Jordan, Jaron and Ashlyn Geister; sister, Cheryl (Bob) Schultz. He was proceeded in death by his parents.
Thank you to his neighbors and friends for supporting him and loving him like a Dad.
Our family also gives special thanks to St Cloud Hospital, Divine Healthcare, and Bethesda Club Suites for the amazing care and heartwarming touch.
