Gerald Clarence “Jerry” Goosmann, 78, of Kandiyohi, died Friday, August 30th at his home. His memorial service will be at 2:00 pm, Friday, September 6th at First Reformed Church in Willmar. Visitation will be one hour prior to his service. Arrangements are with Harvey Anderson Funeral Home in Willmar. www.hafh.org
Gerald Clarence Goosmann was born on May 21, 1941, to Dick and Anna (Meier) Goosmann in Plymouth County, IA. They moved near Raymond where Jerry started attending school in Priam before going to Raymond High School. On April 7, 1961, Jerry was married to Sharon Narragon in Willmar. To this union four children were born: Kathy, Kevin, Kyle and Kory. They would later divorce. Jerry started driving truck for GTA Feeds where he worked for many years. On July 6, 2002, Jerry was united in marriage to Kathleen Krueger on Lake Calhoun. Jerry enjoyed fishing and gardening. Jerry and Kathy took the motorhome to Arizona, Las Vegas and to Oregon often times bringing family with them. Jerry often repeated his favorite phrase which was “It don’t make no difference.” He was a loving husband, dad, grandpa, brother and friend.
Jerry is survived by his wife, Kathy of Kandiyohi, children: Kathy (Joel) Swanson of Willmar, Kevin Goosmann of Apple Valley, Kyle (Crystal) Goosmann of Willmar, and Kory (Patti) Goosmann of Willmar; step children: Kelly (Maia) Rue of Paynesville, Kenneth (Sarah) Rue of Litchfield, Nathan (Heather) Rue of Kerkhoven, Cristina (Kirk) Elton of Kandiyohi, Dana (Dan) Demers of Lakeville, and Jered (Haley) Rue of Dent; nine grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, 15 step grandchildren, and siblings: Helen Giese of Minneapolis and Geraldine Freese of Maynard.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Dick Goosmann and Kenneth Goosmann and brother-in-law, Harm Freese.
