Gerald Burton Pederson

Gerald “Jerry” Pederson, 82, of Kandiyohi, died Friday, November 22nd at Bethesda Grand in Willmar. His Celebration of Life memorial service will be 2:00 pm Tuesday, November 26th at Bethesda Grand Nursing Home Chapel in Willmar.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.  Burial will be in Clover Leaf Memorial Cemetery in Willmar.  Arrangements are with Harvey Anderson Funeral Home in Willmar.  www.hafh.org

Gerald Burton Pederson was born on September 9, 1937 in Crookston, Minnesota, the son of John and Inga (Teigen) Pederson.  He grew up in the Crookston / Fosston area.  He worked on a farm with his foster parents Edward and Gunda Olson in Fosston.   He was united in marriage to Elizabeth Ann Aaker on September 13, 1958, at Bethel Assembly in Fosston. The couple were blessed with five daughters.

He worked at grain elevators in Climax, Lake Park, and Kandiyohi.  Jerry also hauled grain, worked as carpenter, upholstered furniture, and operated an online used book business.

Jerry was baptized as a Christian and lived his faith.  He enjoyed spending time with his family, woodworking, carpentry, going to auction sales, and computer games.

Jerry passed away on Friday, November 22nd at Bethesda Grand Nursing Home in Willmar surrounded by his family.  He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth “Liz” Pederson of Kandiyohi; daughters: Sharon (and Evan) Scharfe of New Richmond, Beth (and Maury) Erickson of Kandiyohi, Penny Pederson (and Troy Johnson) of Barrett, Janet (and Jason) Kemp of Kandiyohi; 8 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren and several other relatives and friends.  

He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Jill Pederson, and various siblings.
