Ian Edward Welch

Ian Edward Welch, 30, of Minneapolis formerly of Pennock, made his grand entrance into the afterworld on August 13th at his home after a sudden illness.  A Celebration of his Life will be from 5-7:00 pm on Thursday, August 22nd with a time of sharing beginning at 6:30 pm at Harvey Anderson Funeral Home in Willmar.  www.hafh.org

Ian Edward Welch was born May 1, 1989, to David and Janine (Nevala) Welch. He grew up as a creative, inquisitive and artistic kid. He was always quick to help others in need and lend a hand to friends that he met through his love for the arts.

Ian was baptized and confirmed at The Church of St. Mary in Willmar.  He graduated from Kerkhoven/Murdock/Sunburg High School in 2007. He attended Ridgewater Technical College in Willmar, but soon found out that his passion was entrenched in the world of entertainment and making others laugh. He spent a few years exploring the world of humor in St. Cloud, before eventually landing in Minneapolis. He very quickly found joy in providing comedy through improvisation and education during his time at a local theatre and was always willing to give back to the community.

Ian also spent a lot of time exploring the world of culinary experiences through food. He tirelessly created dishes to share at his places of employment, with his family and those that would share a creative space for food, especially during the holiday seasons.

Ian is survived by his parents, David and Janine Welch of Pennock; brother, Andrew (and Elizabeth) Welch of Woodbury; nephews: Samuel and Benjamin Welch (who he always provided the best EVER books and birthday presents).

Ian was preceded in death by his brother, Samuel, in infancy; grandparents, James & Arlene Welch and George & Eula Nevala.
