Iris A. (Brunkhorst) Norris

Iris A. Norris, 94, of Paynesville, died Sunday, June 9, 2019, at GlenOaks Care Center in New London.  A memorial service will be held 11:00 am Wednesday, June 19, 2019, at Grace United Methodist Church in Paynesville.  A private family burial will be held. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church.  

Iris A. Norris was born on December 3, 1924, in Lacarne, Ohio, the daughter of Murland and Florence (Fachman) Brunkhorst.  Her family moved to Oak Harbor where Iris graduated from high school.  After high school, Iris began working at a dime store where she earned nine cents an hour.  She met Arthur Norris and began working at Erie Proving Ground while Arthur was in training there. 

In 1946 she and Arthur were united in marriage.  This union was blessed with two daughters, Jean and Judy.  The family made their home on the Norris family farm in Minnesota.  As the girls got older Iris worked at Trinity Steel in New London and later at the Paynesville Hospital.

Iris A. Norris died on Sunday, June 9, 2019.  She is survived by her daughters, Jean Ewald and Judy Norris; granddaughters, Lisa (Robert) Rother, Renee (Nathan) Kreye, and Amy (Josh) Lohn; seven great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; her sister, Vonda Spiegel; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Iris was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Arthur; son-in-law, Robert Ewald, and many other family members.
