Karemae Gravley

Karemae Gravley, 94, of New London, died Tuesday, May 7, 2019 at the St. Cloud Hospital. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 14, 2019 at Peace Lutheran Church in New London.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at church.  Burial will be in Lebanon Cemetery in New London.  In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.  Arrangements are with the Johnson Funeral Home in New London. 

 Karemae Gravley was born on May 23, 1924 on the family farm near Atwater, to Lewis and Clara (Gluth) Hansen.  She was baptized and confirmed at Harrison Presbyterian Church and attended Atwater High School.  On December 7, 1943, Karemae was united in marriage to Leonard Anderson.  To this union two daughters, Bonnie and Trudie were born. Leonard died on June 17, 1954. Karemae was united in marriage to Gordon Gravley on November 10, 1955.  To this union twin sons, Gerry and Gary, were born.  They made their home in the New London/Spicer area.  Karemae worked as a waitress at the Walnut Chalet and later at McKales Restaurant until retiring at the age of 84.

Karemae was a member of Peace Lutheran Church where was active in Tuesday morning bible study and the church serving committee.  She loved spending time with family and friends. She will be remembered for her spunk and quick wit.  She enjoyed dancing, bowling, traveling, gardening, canning, and her beloved pets. 

Karemae is survived by her husband of 63 years, Gordon; children, Bonnie (Bill) Nordmeyer of Willmar, Trudie (Steve) Lieser of Spicer, and Gerry Gravley of Spicer; 7 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Leonard; son, Gary; grandson, Ross; and sister, Pearl; and brother, Malan.
