Keith Andrist Obituary

Keith Edward Andrist, 71, of rural Pennock formerly of Rochester, died on Wednesday, September 4th at his home.  A memorial service will be 2:00 pm, Saturday, September 14th at Harvey Anderson Funeral Home in Willmar with Military Honors provided by Willmar American Legion Post#167.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. www.hafh.org

Keith Edward Andrist was born on November 25, 1947, Oronoco, Minnesota, the son of John and Arloene (House) Andrist.  He grew up in Rochester where he graduated from John Marshall Sr. High School.  He enlisted in the United States Army on September 15, 1967 where he served his country in Vietnam.  After being wounded he returned state side and received an Honorable Discharge on September 14, 1970.

Keith received an Associate’s Degree from Rochester Community College in 1975.  He was united in marriage to Janice Loll on June 11, 1976, two children were blessed in this union.  Keith worked as a butcher and later for Dayton’s Department Store in Rochester where he was manager of loss prevention.  Following his career at Dayton’s, he became a driver for R&S Care Cab.  He was united in marriage to Danette Kragenbring on June 5, 1987, and continued to live in Rochester.  Danette passed away on October 18, 2016.  Keith moved to the Willmar area to be close to his son.

Keith enjoyed being outdoors whether fishing, hunting, or golfing.  He loved spending time with his grandkids.  He always had a companion dog, most recently his cocker spaniel, Jackson, who was always by his side.   

Keith is survived by his daughter, Kathleen Andrist of Bloomington; son, Dave Andrist of Pennock; four grandchildren: Wyatt, Emma, Isaiah, Kayden; step-son, Ryan Johnson of Rochester; brothers: Glen (and Eileen) Andrist of Alexandria, Kenneth (and Linda) Andrist of Eyota and several other nieces, nephews and other relatives.

In addition to his wife Danette he was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Stanley.
