Larry Hagemeyer, 71, of Willmar, died Wednesday, September 4th at Carris Health Rice Memorial Hospital in Willmar. His Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 am, Monday, September 9th at Church of St. Mary in Willmar. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 4-6 pm at Harvey Anderson Funeral Home in Willmar and continue one hour prior to the service on Monday.
Larry was born on September 12, 1947, in Clara City, MN, the son of Albert and Teresa (Schulte) Hagemeyer. He grew up in Clara City where he graduated from Clara City High School in 1965. He continued his education at Willmar Vo-Tech earning an accounting degree.
On June 7, 1969, he was united in marriage to Diane Danielson at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Willmar. Following their marriage, they lived in Willmar and he owned and operated Willmar Taxi before working at Willmar Implement and Willmar Manufacturing (AGCO). During retirement he worked for Steve’s Vac Shack and was a Senior Companion.
Larry was an EMT and was a member of Kandiyohi County Rescue Squad. He enjoyed bowling, dancing, playing Bingo and watching the MN Twins and Vikings. On Thursday nights during the summer, you would often find Larry at the fairgrounds watching KRA Races. He was a member of Knights of Columbus.
Surviving are his children: Jason (and Kelli) Hagemeyer; Stacy (and Jeremy) Anfinson; Karla Hagemeyer; Amber (and Scott Nichols) Hagemeyer and Joel Hagemeyer; seven grandchildren: Taylor, Isaac, Aubriauna, Bailey, Chloe, Aurora and Karson.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Diane; granddaughter, Riley Hagemeyer and brother, Ronald HAGEMEYER.
