Laura Hildegarde Hans, 97, of Willmar, died Saturday, June 22nd at Bethesda Grand in Willmar. Her funeral will be 10:30 am, Wednesday at Harvey Anderson Funeral Home in Willmar with visitation one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be in Clover Leaf Cemetery.
Laura was born July 21, 1921, in Raymond, Minnesota, the daughter of August and Olga “Minnie” (Hass) Binnebose. They lived in Raymond until 1928 when her family moved to LaCrosse, WI, then Hinckley, MN returning to Raymond in 1930 and settled in Willmar in 1935.
On March 20, 1948, she was united in marriage to Edwin Hans at First Presbyterian Church in Willmar. They lived in Raymond until moving to their farm in 1952. For the past few years, Laura has lived in Willmar. She did work for a number of years at Jennie-O Foods. She loved to bake, cook, and canned from her garden. She enjoyed to auctions and collecting. Laura enjoyed all her dogs and spending time with her family.
While living near Sunburg, she was a member of Monson Lake Lutheran Church and for the past few years she has been a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church in Willmar. She was baptized at Trinity Lutheran Church in Raymond and confirmed at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Raymond.
Surviving are her children: Eileen Klinghagen of Willmar; Roger (and Diane) Hans of Kerkhoven and Richard (and Peggy) Hans of Kerkhoven; seven grandchildren; Jackie Epema, Jana Breyer, Holly Thorson, Heather Miller, Anthony Hans, Amanda Hans, and Nick Hans and 10 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Edwin, on January 20, 2000, and siblings: Irma and Alma Hippen, Reuben, Herbert, Armin, Walter and Lydia Binnebose.
