Lois May Norbie, 85, of Willmar, passed away Tuesday, November 26, 2013 at the St. Cloud Hospital due to heart complications. Her funeral service will be 11:00 am, Saturday at Harvey Anderson Funeral Home in Willmar. Visitation will be from 5-7:00 pm, Friday, at Harvey Anderson Funeral Home and on Saturday one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery in Lindstrom, Minnesota. www.hafh.org
Lois was born on July 25, 1928, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, the daughter of Terry and Eunice (Franklin) Lindstrom. She grew up in Minneapolis where she attended her schooling. On March 14, 1947, she was united in marriage to Luverne Norbie. Following their marriage, Lois and Luverne lived in Minneapolis for a few years, eventually settling in Willmar in 1953.
Lois was active in many activities at First Baptist Church, in Willmar where she was a member. Lois’ passion in life was being a wife, mother and homemaker and she was also an avid reader.
She is survived by her children, Steve (and Nancy) Norbie of Willmar, Mark (and Barb) Norbie of Willmar, Jeff (and Cheryl) Norbie of Okanogan, WA, Nancy Holm of Bloomington, MN and Laura Norbie of Willmar; 15 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and cousin, James Norbie, who she considered as another son. Also surviving is her brother-in-law, Clinton Sams of Atwater.
Lois is preceded in death by her husband, Luverne; parents, Terry and Eunice Lindstrom; and sister, Virginia Sams.
