Lorraine B. Majchrzak, 94 of New London, died Thursday, July 25, 2019 at GlenOaks Care Center in New London. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m Monday, August 5, 2019 at Our Lady of the Lakes Catholic Church in Spicer. Vistiation will be held one hour prior to the service at church. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Arrangements are with the Johnson Funeral Home in New London. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Hawk Creek Animal Shelter, P.O. Box 709, Willmar, MN. 56201.
Lorraine B. Majchrzak was born November 4, 1924, in Duluth, the daughter of Elbridge and Cordelia (DuMoulin) Brackett. She grew up in Duluth where she graduated from high school in 1943. She continued her education by attending business school. In 1951 she was united in marriage to William Fee. This union was blessed with one daughter, Elizabeth. They later divorced. On January 18, 1975, Lorraine was united in marriage to George Majchrzak in Duluth. They made their home in Minneapolis where she worked as a secretary. They later moved to Paynesville in George’s retirement and she worked at First Bank until her retirement. They moved to New London in 1999. Lorraine and George were able to share in 33 years of marriage before George’s death on November 19, 2008.
Lorraine was a member of Our Lady of the Lakes Catholic Church and Legion Auxiliary where she helped knit helmet lines for our military. She enjoyed sewing, gardening and playing cards. She will always be remembered for her infectious smile that could brighten anyone’s day.
Lorraine died Thursday, July 25, 2019, at GlenOaks Care Center at the age of 94. She is survived by her daughter, Elizabeth (Jerry) Dawson of Ash Fork, AZ; George’s children: Teri (Dean) Anderson, Nandra (Bruce) Looman, John (Barbara) Majchrzak and Jim (Kelly) Majchrzak; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
