Nadine Rosella Carlson

Nadine Rosella Carlson, 83, of Willmar, died Tuesday, October 29th at Bethesda Grand in Willmar. Her memorial service will be 11:00 am, Saturday, November 2nd at Calvary Lutheran Church in Willmar. Visitation will be one hour prior to her service at the church. Burial will be in Clover Leaf Cemetery in Willmar. Arrangements are with Harvey Anderson Funeral Home in Willmar. www.hafh.org

Nadine Rosella Carlson was born on December 13, 1935, in Willmar to John and Hannah (Nelson) Madison. She was baptized and later confirmed at Calvary Lutheran Church in Murdock. Nadine attended Willmar schools and graduated in 1953. On June 19, 1954, Nadine was united in marriage to Vernon Carlson at Calvary Lutheran Church in Willmar. Following their marriage, they lived in Bloomington until moving to Nevis in 1970 and in 2005 they moved to Willmar. While living in Nevis, Nadine worked as a secretary at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Park Rapids. She retired in 2002. Nadine enjoyed knitting, baking, playing Scrabble and solving crossword puzzles. She had a knack for keeping in touch with her family and friends. She even stayed close to many of her high school friends. Nadine was a loving wife, mom, grandma and friend.

Nadine is survived by her children: Mark (Joan) Carlson of Nevis, and Tim (Deb) Carlson of Willmar; grandchildren: Cory (Loren Smith) Carlson, Justin Carlson, Ryan (Amy) Carlson, and Nathan (Sarah) Carlson; and great-granddaughter, Sofia Carlson.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, daughter, Karen Carlson, and siblings: Jim Madison, Roy Madison, Ray Madison, Pearl Hamann and Vila Von Eschen
