Adeline J. Lohn, 93 of New London, died Thursday, June 1, 2023 at the St. Cloud Hospital. Memorial services will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 7, 2023 at Peace Lutheran Church in New London. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service at church. Burial will be in the Oak Hill Cemetery. Arrangements are with the Johnson Funeral Home in New London.
Adeline Joyce Lohn was born on November 20, 1929, on the family farm in Colfax Township, the daughter of Julius and Ida (Jacobson) Gravley. She was baptized at Crow River Lutheran Church. She attended country grade school in rural New London. On January 19, 1946, Adeline was united in marriage to Sidney Edward Lohn. This union was blessed with two sons and a daughter. They made their home and farmed in Burbank Township until moving to New London in 1956, where she worked for The Big Store and cooked for New London-Spicer Schools for over 25 years. Adeline and Sid were able to share in 68 years of marriage before his death on December 6, 2014.
Adeline was a member of Peace Lutheran Church. She enjoyed bowling, golf, playing games, visiting with friends and family, and watching the Twins and Gophers. Her greatest joy evolved around her family and she especially loved being a homemaker, wife, mother and grandmother.
Adeline is survived by her children, Larry (Lois) Lohn of Willmar, David Lohn of New London and Judy (Duane) Rengel of Spicer; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandson; brothers, Gordon Gravley and Wilbert “Bud” Gravley and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Sid; siblings, Kenneth, Roger, Ilo, Gloria and Dorothy and parents.
