Alice was born on May 5, 1928, in Paynesville, Minnesota, to Harry and Ella (Schmiginsky) Marquardt. She was raised on the family farm in rural Paynesville, where she learned the values of hard work and kindness. She graduated from Paynesville High School with the Class of 1947.
On September 7, 1951, Alice married the love of her life, Kenneth Kesselring, at EUB Church in Paynesville. Together they built a life centered on family and farming, working side by side on their farm for many years.
Alice was a member of Grace United Methodist Church. She found great joy in sewing, quilting, gardening, cross-stitching, embroidery, and putting together puzzles. She treasured spending time with her family and friends and especially looked forward to reconnecting with classmates at her high school class reunions. There she enjoyed reminiscing and celebrating lifelong friendships.
Alice is survived by her daughter, Irma (Donald) Kelm of Paynesville; grandchildren, Donald (Shelly) Kelm Jr., and Jody (Jake) Coe; great-grandchildren, Sophia and Jaxon Kelm; and step-great-grandchildren, Ashley, Emily, Britney, Dylan, and Cassidy.
She was preceded in death her husband, Kenneth; parents, Harry and Ella Marquardt; and parents-in-law, Hulda and Edward Kesselring.
