Ann Williamson, 89, of Spicer, died Thursday, October 10 at Copperleaf Senior Living in Willmar. Her funeral service will be on Tuesday, October 15 at 2:00 pm at Harrison Presbyterian Church, rural Spicer, with the visitation on Monday, October 14 from 5:00 to 7:00 pm and continuing one hour prior to her service. Both will be held at the church, with burial immediately following at Oakside Cemetery.
Ann Jeanette Peterson was born July 31, 1935, to Tinius and Julia (Boe) Peterson in Norway Lake Township on her great uncle Sam Peterson’s farm. In 1938, the family packed up and moved across the ice of West Norway Lake to her grandfather, William Peterson’s farm. On February 29, 1944, they moved to Arctander Township. She was baptized and confirmed at First Lutheran Church of Norway Lake (old brick church).
Ann attended District 13 School in rural Sunburg for two years. For third grade she lived with her aunts, Betsy and Rikka Boe, attending country school taught by Miss Boe. She attended District 23 School through eighth grade, graduating in 1953 from New London High School and then continued her education at Minneapolis Business College where she lived at the Girls Club. Ann was a bookkeeper for Stark Electric for 10 years.
Ann met Donald Williamson on October 26, 1964, in Minneapolis. On April 3, 1965, they were married at First Lutheran Church of Norway Lake. This union was blessed with two children: Sheryl and Donnel. They raised their family on the Williamson Family Century Farm in rural Spicer.
Ann was a 50-year member at Harrison Presbyterian Church where she enjoyed being active in Ladies Aid. She was involved with Minnesota Farmers Union and the area Home Extension Club. Ann loved making memory books, baking, canning, gardening, playing games with her family, and playing cards with the neighbor ladies. She adored her grandchildren and reminiscing about family history. Ann was passionate about keeping up with current events, friends and family.
She was a loving wife, mom, grandma, great grandma and friend. Ann is survived by her children: Sheryl (Michael) Johnson of Atwater, and Donnel (Christa) Williamson of Spicer; granddaughter: Amanda Johnson and her children: Emma, Ean, and Korbyn; granddaughter: Amber (Ross) Jaenisch and their children: Addison, Brayden, and Lukas; grandson: Ryan (Bri) Johnson and their children: Blair and Ava; grandsons: Daniel Williamson (Melissa, significant other); and Darrin Williamson. She is also survived by many cousins, neighbors and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband and parents.
