Ardelle Rosen Obituary

Ardelle Rhoda Rosen, 77, of Raymond, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 9th at Bethesda Grand in Willmar surrounded by the love and prayers of her family.

Ardelle was born on March 1, 1948, in Montevideo, MN, to Albert and Rosetta (Oddan) Myrom.  She was baptized at Zion Lutheran Church.  She grew up in rural Watson, graduating from Milan High School in 1966, and then pursued her teaching degree from Augsburg College in Minneapolis.

On July 27, 1968, she was united in marriage to the love of her life, Gale Rosen, at Kviteseid Lutheran Church in Milan. They began their life together in Raymond, where they raised their six children and took joy in watching their family continue to grow.  She taught at Raymond Elementary and MACCRAY Elementary for 35 years and upon her retirement, spent time making memories at the cabin on Norway Lake, traveling, and enjoying time with her family. She was a member of First Lutheran Church of Norway Lake of New London.

She will be remembered for her love of spending time with her family, her husband, her children, her grandchildren, and great grandchildren, for the precious gifts she shared, knitting afghans for all of her children and grandchildren, and baking family favorites, lefse, brownies or Christmas cookies; her love of chocolate, especially snickers and peanut m&m’s, traveling, making lists, and enjoying time at the lake; her joy of discovering family history, her strong Norwegian heritage, and teaching her family all of the ways to use her favorite phrase, “Uffda!”

Ardelle is survived by her husband of 57 years, Gale Rosen of Raymond; her children: Lexi (Scott) Wubben of Prinsburg; Kraig Rosen of Raymond; Becky (Kraig) DeJong of Raymond; Heidi (Mitch) Gerdes of Watson; Andy (Laura) Rosen of Renville; and Amy (Josh) Kavanagh of New London; her 17 grandchildren, Ryan (Kendra) Wubben, Karina DeJong, Karisa (Lucas) Van Eps, Kiesha (Joseph) Benson, Andrew (Mallory) DeJong, Isaac Gerdes, Adam (Carmen) DeJong, Sidney (Mason) Clark, Tyler (Bailey) Wubben, Isabel Gerdes, Cayden Wubben, Aurora Rosen, Teagan Kavanagh, Isabella Rosen, Braden Kavanagh, Isaiah Rosen, and Hannah Wubben; her 9 great grandchildren, Silas Van Eps, Blair Benson, Sadie Wubben, Lux Benson, Levi Van Eps, Beau Wubben, Kohen Wubben, Archer Van Eps, Caroline Wubben and the many that will follow… Uffda! She is also survived by other family members and dear loved ones.

She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Albert and Rosetta Myrom, her stepfather, Eugene Larson, and several aunts, uncles, and relatives. Blessed be her memory! We will forever cherish the time we have shared with you and will hold you in our hearts forever!

Her funeral will be 10:30 am, Monday, September 15th at First Lutheran Church of Norway Lake, rural New London.  Visitation will be from 5-7:00 pm, Sunday at Harvey Anderson & Johnson Funeral Home in Willmar, and continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday.  Interment will be at Zion Lutheran Cemetery in rural Watson. www.hafh.org
