Arlene Lippert Obituary

Arlene Hertha (Schroer) Lippert died at her home on Saturday, November 13, 2021.Her celebration of her life will be held at a later date for all her family and friends. Arrangements are with Harvey Anderson Funeral Home in Willmar,www.hafh.org

Arlene was born on December 19, 1931 to Herman and Anna (Seehusen) Schroer, on one of the many farms her family occupied during her childhood.  She was the 9th of 10 children born to her parents.  Arlene attended District 119 in Crooks Township where she graduated in the top three of her class.  Following graduation, she took a job as a nanny in Olivia.  Then, she stayed with and cared for her ailing sister, whose husband had a tall, slim brother named Harlyn.  She married Harlyn Lippert of rural Blomkest on 4/11/1950.  Having moved so many times as a child, her only condition in their pre-nuptial was that they stay put and not move from farm to farm.  Harlyn delivered on that promise; she lived on the same farm, north of Danube, for the past 71 years.  On that farm, she raised chickens, gardens, and kids.  She worked hard and had a strong work ethic, which she passed on to her kids with such notable quotes as “Hard work never killed anyone,” “I didn’t raise any quitters,” “Make your own fun” and of course, “Take 2 aspirin and get to work!” She enjoyed visiting, laughing, playing cards, puzzling, and attending her kids’ activities.  Arlene went to work for a paycheck at “Renville General” (Renville County Hospital) in 1970, earning $1.65 per hour.  After working there for over 26 years in several different capacities, she retired.  And now she rests.

She is survived by her 8 children: Ted (Villa), Daryl (Deb), Greg (Vicki), Lois (Todd), Ron (Scooter), Jon (Pam), Joe (Lisa) and Keith (fiancé Stacy), and 17 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren with two on the way.  She was preceded in death by her husband Harlyn in 2004, and infant son Russell in 1951.
