Barb J. Burnson, 78, of Sunburg, died Wednesday, May 17, 2023, at Bethesda Grand in Willmar. Graveside services will be 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 23, 2023 at First Lutheran of Norway Lake Cemetery, near New London. In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred. Arrangements are with the Johnson Funeral Home in New London.
Barbara Jean Burnson was born August 12, 1944, in Willmar, the daughter of Clarence and Evelyn (Norgren) Lindahl. She grew up on Como Beach on Lake Andrew. She attended country grade school and New London High School, graduating in 1962. On January 5, 1963, Barb was united in marriage to Carroll “Bunny” Burnson. They were blessed with two daughters and two sons. They made their home and farmed near Sunburg where Barb relished in being a stay-at-home mom and farm wife. She loved cooking, baking, cleaning and caring for her family. Barb and Bunny were able to share in 44 years of marriage before his death on August 16, 2007.
Barb was a member of First Lutheran Church of Norway Lake. She enjoyed garage sales, making crafts, and spending time with family and friends. She especially enjoyed hospitality, always making sure everyone was feed. She was known for her crazy cake, homemade donuts, chocolate chip cookies, fried chicken and homemade macaroni and cheese just to name a few.
Barb is survived by her children, Lori (Gene) Pangrac, Lonnie Burnson (Deb Ahrendt), Lisa Tanner (Todd Malchow) and Lyle Burnson; grandchildren: Abby (Jason) Losing, Keagen (Brittany) Pangrac, Dakota Tanner and Kailyne (Josh) Nelson; great-grandchildren: Kaidin and Brenna Pangrac, Landon, Tenyson and Cooper Losing, and Tripp, Nash and Navy Nelson; siblings, Clarence Jr (Julie) Lindahl and Pete (Barb) Lindahl.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bunny; and parents.
