Barbara Killeen, 85, of Willmar, died Tuesday, August 27, 2024, at Bethesda Grand in Willmar.
Her Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, September 5, 2024 at Our Lady of the Lakes Catholic Church in Spicer with visitation one hour prior to the Mass. Interment will be at All Saints Catholic Cemetery in Lakeville at a later date. Arrangements are with Harvey Anderson & Johnson Funeral Homes, www.hafh.org.
Barbara Lee Killeen was born March 24, 1939, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, to Calvin and Florence (Hammeral) Barrett. Barb lived most of her life in Minneapolis area. She graduated from Holy Angels Academy in Richfield in 1957. On November 26, 1960, she married Eugene Killeen at Our Lady of the Lakes Catholic Church in Mound. Four children: Michael, Mark, John and Mary Kay, were born to their marriage. They lived in south Minneapolis, Richfield and Savage. Eugene died in 2005 and Barb moved to the Willmar area in 2019 to be near family.
Barb was a former member of Annunciation Catholic Church in Minneapolis and St. John’s Catholic Church in Savage. She often volunteered throughout the years at her kids schools. She enjoyed hosting the neighborhood kids at their home when her children were young. She also enjoyed watching sports, especially her grandchildren’s basketball games and Vikings football games.
Barb is survived by three children: Mike (Betsy) Killeen of Atwater, Mark (Joie) Killeen of Dalbo and John (Peggy) Killeen of Lindstrom; seven grandchildren: Caitlin (Nicholas) McBeain, Molly Killeen, Hatatu Killeen, Biruk Killeen, Anthony Killeen, Damian Killeen, and Tevin Killeen; three great-grandchildren: Dalton and Dawson McBeain, and Ryder Killeen; a brother: Peter (Mary Lou) Barrett of Cape Coral, FL. and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband: Eugene; and her daughter: Mary Kay Killeen.
