Betty L. Miller, 92 of New London, died Thursday, December 01, 2022 at Bethesda Grand in Willmar. Memorial services will be 11:00 am Wednesday, December 7, 2022 at Peace Lutheran Church in New London. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service at church. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery in New London. Arrangements are with the Johnson Funeral Home in New London.
Betty Lou Miller was born on April 23, 1930 in Forest Grove, Oregon, the daughter of Herman and Kathyrn (Mohs) Carstens. She grew up in Belgrade where she attended Belgrade High School, graduating in 1947. On June 16, 1950, Betty was united in marriage to Richard (Tulie) Miller and Zion Lutheran Church in Belgrade. They made their home in New London where she worked as an administrative assistant to the superintendent for 40 years before retiring in 1992. Betty and Tulie were able to share in 56 years of marriage before his death on December 5, 2006.
Betty was a member of Peace Lutheran Church where she worked in the office for many years and served in WELCA. She enjoyed bowling, golf, ceramics, quilting, knitting, embroidery and cooking for family and friends.
Betty is survived by her children, Mona (Steven) Tait of Spicer, Dana (Fran) Miller of New London, Jeffery (Jane) Miller of Willmar, Kevin (Joy) Miller of Plymouth, Colleen (Robert) Ostergaard of Maryland and Carrie (Wayne) Nelson of Brainerd; 16 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; siblings, Mary (Ed) Lunke and Tom (Beth) Carstens; and sisters-in-law, Mary Carstens and Dorothy Carstens. She was preceded in death by her husband, Tulie; parents; 4 brothers and 3 sisters.
