Beverly J. Nelson

Bev Nelson, age 85, passed away on February 27 in Spring Valley Minnesota. Funeral services will be private with burial in Lebanon Cemetery in New London.  Arrangements are with the Johnson Funeral Home in New London.

Bev was the wife of former Springfield banker, Gil Nelson. Gil was a Vice President of the Farmers & Merchants bank for 26 years. Bev was born on July 4, 1939. She always said that everyone celebrated her birthday, the fourth of July. Her greatest role in life was being a wonderful wife and mother. Bev enjoyed playing bridge, spending time at the lake, embroidery, ceramics and later in life, playing bingo and coloring. She found joy in the simple things. Her husband, Gil, took tender care of her. They were married 61 years. Bev is survived by her husband Gil, her children, Dave (Denise) Nelson, Laurie (Barry) Cohrs, four grandchildren and five greatgrandchildren.
