Brad Redmond, 59, of Willmar, died Tuesday, August 12th at CentraCare Rice Hospital in Willmar. His memorial service will be at 11:00 am, Monday, August 18th at Harvey Anderson Funeral Home in Willmar. Bradley Daryl Redmond was born on December 10, 1965, in St. James, Minnesota, to Daryl and Dianne (Gilling) Redmond. In 1967, the family moved from Ortonville to Willmar, where Brad spent his childhood. He was an active member of Willmar Assembly of God and graduated from Willmar High School in 1984. During his high school years, Brad was a standout football player.

After graduation, Brad entered the workforce, leading down a path to earn a degree in Criminal Justice from Ridgewater College.

In 1988, Brad married Candace (Eckhoff) Menasco at Faith Lutheran Church in Spicer. Together they had two daughters, Dannielle and Kayla, and made their home in Willmar. Though they later divorced in 2014, Brad remained a devoted father.

Brad began his law enforcement career with the Sheriff’s Office in Granite Falls before transferring to the Willmar office in 1991. He served as a deputy for five years before advancing to the role of Investigator, a position he held with dedication for the next 17 years.

Later, Brad married Laura Van Buren. Together, they opened Mass Hysteria Gym in Willmar, where they shared a passion for fitness and built strong relationships with their gym community—connections Brad deeply valued for their authenticity and mutual determination.

In addition to his work at the gym, Brad held a maintenance role at Divine House and most recently stepped into a new role as Program Director at Prairie Lake Youth Program. He was excited for the opportunity to make a positive impact in the lives of young people.

Brad had many interests, including working on collector cars, designing tattoos and other artwork, and staying active. He cherished time with his family—especially with his beloved granddaughter, Lillian.

Brad will be remembered as a loving husband, son, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. His hard work, generous spirit, and unwavering dedication to others will be greatly missed.

Brad is survived by his wife, Laura; daughters: Dannielle (Tyler) Stultz of Charleston, SC, and Kayla (Orion Bellamy) Redmond of Willmar; mother, Dianne Redmond; step-children: Joshua (Faith Steinert) Van Buren,  Hanna (Sawyer Magnuson) Van Buren and Asher and Aiden Van Buren; sibling: Kim (Jim) Sirek of Burnsville, and Brian “Beef” (Claudia) Redmond of Willmar; nieces and nephews: Carson, Connor and Kasey Redmond, Juliet Redmond, and Alexandra Sirek; and his favorite person; granddaughter, Lillian Stultz.
