Carol Jean Aasen was born on March 13, 1945, in Willmar, Minnesota, to Carlton and Jeanette (Wright) Ferguson. She was baptized and confirmed at Calvary Lutheran Church in Willmar. Carol graduated from Willmar High School in 1963.
On June 14, 1963, Carol married Paul Aasen at Calvary Lutheran Church. The couple initially made their home in Iowa City, Iowa, before relocating to Bloomington, Minnesota in 1966. In 1976, they settled on Lake Florida near Spicer, Minnesota.
Carol dedicated many years to being a homemaker and also worked as a waitress at Champlin/Eastgate Cafe, Chelsey’s, and Hillcrest. She retired in 1994 to be a full-time grandma. Additionally, she supported her husband’s business by assisting with clerical duties and became her late husband’s voice in 2002.
She was an active member of the VFW Women’s Auxiliary in earlier years and belonged to Peace Lutheran Church in New London. Carol found joy in reading, walking, enjoying life at the lake, baking, entertaining, and most of all, spending time with her grandchildren.
