Carol W. (Fratzke) Johnson

Carol W. Johnson, 92, of Willmar, passed away Monday, June 15, 2026, at CentraCare Rice Memorial Hospital in Willmar. 

Her memorial service will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 11, at Svea Lutheran Church with visitation two hours prior to the service at the church.  The service will be streamed on the church's YouTube page.  A private interment will be at Oak Park Cemetery near Kandiyohi.  Memorials are preferred to Svea Lutheran Church. Arrangements are with Harvey Anderson & Johnson Funeral Homes. 

Carol Wenona (Fratzke) Johnson was born October 30, 1933, in Hutchinson, Minnesota, to Paul and Mildred (Ramberg) Fratzke. She grew up and attended school in Hutchinson, graduating from Hutchinson High School in 1951.

She was united in marriage to Thomas Johnson on January 23, 1957, in Waseca. They made their home in Hutchinson before moving to Fahlun Township, south of Willmar. Their marriage was blessed with six children: Scott, Mike, Deb, Gary, Kris, and Cheryl. After dedicating many years to raising her family, Carol worked at Heartland Community Action Agency from the early 1980s until the mid-1990s.

Carol was a member of Svea Lutheran Church and was active in Home Extension and her Birthday Club. She enjoyed camping, playing cards, and bowling. Most of all, Carol cherished time spent with her family, whether attending her children's and grandchildren's activities or camping together at Big Kandiyohi Lake.

She is survived by her children: Scott (Dianne) Johnson of Blomkest, Mike Johnson of Willmar, Deb (Sid) Willson of Litchfield, Gary Johnson of Spicer, Kris Ziskovsky of Prior Lake, and Cheryl (Ryan) Behr of Plymouth; seven grandchildren: Ethan and Erin Johnson, Kasey and Laura Willson, Heather and Morgan Ziskovsky, and John Behr; and two sisters: JoAnn (Doug) Peterson of Grand Rapids and Audrey Peterson of Seattle, Washington.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas, in 2006; her son-in-law, Gerald Ziskovsky; her sister, Phyllis Webb; and her brothers, David and Donald Fratzke.
