Carol Ann (Berg) Norum

Carol Ann (Berg) Norum, age 84, of Willmar, passed away Tuesday, August 9, at CentraCare Rice Memorial Hospital in Willmar.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 15, at 11:00 a.m. at Calvary Lutheran Church in Willmar and can be viewed below or online at the church's YouTube page. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow the service at Calvary Cemetery in Willmar.  Arrangements are with Harvey Anderson & Johnson Funeral Homes, www.hafh.org.

Carol Norum was born September 8, 1937, in Clarkfield, Minnesota, to Wilhelm and Ruth Berg. After high school, she attended Lutheran Bible Institute (LBI) in Minneapolis. She met her future husband, Marlow, at LBI. Marlow and Carol were married on August 31, 1957, in Clarkfield. After residing in South Dakota for about a year, Carol and Marlow moved to Willmar in 1959. Carol worked for the Central Office of ISD 347 for 30 years. She was proud of the computer skills she gained while working with the school district’s database. Carol loved crafting and was very skilled at embroidery, knitting, sewing, and especially quilting. 

She is survived by her husband of 65 years: Marlow; daughter: Cindy Eischens and husband Mark of Waconia; daughter: Lois Norum of Atlanta, GA; and son: Paul Norum and wife Luz of Camarillo, CA; eight grandchildren: Alissa, Matthew, Andy and wife Laurie, Samantha and husband Andrew, Michael, Roxie and husband Tim, Ryan, Kaylyn and husband Andrew; and thirteen great-grandchildren: Natalie, Luke, Trey, Riley, Nick, Jaymin, Kayleigh, Leyton, Conner, Gabriel, Madison, Emmalynn, and Jensen.  Also surviving are her siblings: Joyce Stovel, Charles Berg, Marilyn Murphy, and Margaret Sommerfeld

She was preceded in death by her mother and father; and youngest brother: Stanley Berg. Carol loved meeting people and seemed to remember everyone. She will be very missed.
