Claudia J. Rote, 71, of Spicer, died Friday, November 10th at her home. Her graveside service will be 1:00 pm, Wednesday, November 22nd at Redwood Falls Cemetery in Redwood Falls. Funeral arrangements are with Harvey Anderson Funeral Home in Willmar. Memorials may be given to the Spicer Beautification Committee, 217 Hillcrest Ave, Spicer, MN 56288.
Claudia Jean Rote was born April 18, 1952, in Redwood Falls, the daughter of Gene and Dorothy (Finley) Rote. She was baptized and later confirmed her faith at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church. She grew up in Redwood Falls and graduated from Redwood Falls High School with the Class of 1970.
After high school, Claudia moved to Dallas, TX, and worked for Braniff Airlines for nine years. She later moved to Burnsville, MN, where she worked as a pilot scheduler for Northwest Airlines for 23 years. She retired in 2007 and moved to Lake Florida, near Spicer, to help take care of her mom.
She was an avid gardener and enjoyed nature photography of humming birds, loons, and swans. While she didn’t quite like baking or cooking, she did love sharing her perfected recipe of caramels.
Claudia is survived by her sister, Julie Rote of Spicer; her dog, Sophie; and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother.
