Clifford "Bud" Pulsifer Obituary

Clifford Murel “Bud” Pulsifer, 77, of New London, died peacefully October 1, 2021, at the family cabin near Emily, MN. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 6, 2021 at Peace Lutheran Church in New London.   Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Tuesday at the Johnson Funeral Home in New London and for one hour prior to the service at church. Burial will be at Lebanon Cemetery in New London. Services will be lived streamed from the church's  You Tube channel

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred and a donation will be made to the Trap Shooting Team.      

Bud Pulsifer was born on August 29, 1944, the youngest child of Clifford Sr and Victoria Brezinski. He grew up in Minneapolis.  He attended grade school at Basilica of St. Mary’s to the 8th grade and graduated from Benilde in St. Louis Park. He attended Mankato State University to pursue a degree in Civil Engineering. Bud was a member of the Minnesota National Guard. 

Bud married Mary Lou Petersen on October 23, 1965, in Spicer at Our Lady of the Lakes Church. They made their home in New London for 56 years where they raised their four children. Lorri, John, Bill and Jacob. Bud worked at Mel’s Sports Shop and the Minnesota Highway Department. In 1970 Bud and Ron Fagen developed Fagen-Pulsifer Construction. In 1983, Bud founded Pulsifer and Sons Construction Company and started Hide-Away Campground. He retired in August of 2006. 

Bud loved family holidays, get-togethers, and cooking. He enjoyed and welcomed his family and friends at the family cabin near Emily. He enjoyed attending his grandchildren’s hockey and baseball games, gymnastics, dance, and trap shooting meets. If you didn’t find him in his garden you would find him in his shop amongst many projects. Bud was always on the go and was an avid fisherman and hunter. He and Mary Lou traveled the world together. He was a life member of the NRA, past member of Pheasants Forever and Ducks Unlimited, Safari Member, and Wild Sheep Foundation. 

Surviving is his loving wife of 56 years, Mary Lou of New London; daughter, Lorri Gales (special friend, Steve Buckentin) of Hamburg; sons, John (Jill) Pulsifer of Belgrade and Jacob Pulsifer of New London; daughter-in-law, Nicole Pulsifer of Spicer; son-in-law, Jay Gales; grandchildren, Sara, Jena (Nick), Amanda, Christopher, Cody (friend, Kalley), Kyle, Dillon, Jasmine, Van and Lily ; Bud’s sisters, Janice Krone of Brooklyn Center and Barbara Duran of New London and several nieces and nephews. Bud was preceded in death by his parent’s, Clifford Sr. and Victoria and his son, Bill. 

Bud was respected, loved, and admired by many, especially his family, and will be missed.
