Colleen Joy (St. Lawrence) Foss

Colleen Foss, age 91, of Willmar, died Friday, December 17, 2021, at Carris Health Therapy Suites in Willmar. 

Her memorial service will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 28, at Faith Lutheran Church in Spicer.  Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery in Willmar.  Visitation will be 5:00-7:00 p.m. Monday, December 27, at Harvey Anderson Funeral Home in Willmar and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church. 

Colleen Joy Foss was born February 3, 1930, in Grand Forks, North Dakota, to Arthur and Edna St. Lawrence.  She graduated from Grand Forks Central High School in 1947 and then attended Aakers Business College.  She worked at Deaconess Hospital in Grand Forks for several years. 

Colleen was united in marriage to Syvert “Sy” Foss on November 25, 1950, at United Lutheran Church in Grand Forks and they were blessed with two children: Deb and Mark.  Colleen and Sy later moved to Willmar, where Colleen was an active member of the Shrine Auxiliary and Compassionate Friends.  She always enjoyed Christmas shopping for children in the Shriner’s Hospital.

She is survived by her daughter: Deb Yule of Willmar; grandchildren: Michael Yule, Jeffrey (Brittany) Yule, and Matthew (Elpha) Yule; and two great-grandchildren: Mitchel and Ashleen.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband: Sy in 2017; her son: Mark Foss and granddaughter: Jennifer Foss in 1983; and a brother: Bob St. Lawrence.
