Curtis Jacobson, 98, of Willmar, died Saturday, March 29, 2025, at Copperleaf Senior Living in Willmar.

His funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, April 7, at Calvary Lutheran Church in Willmar.  Interment with military honors will be at St. John's Lutheran Cemetery near Pennock.  Visitation will be 4:00-6:00 p.m., Sunday, April 6, at Harvey Anderson Funeral Home in Willmar and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday.  Memorials are preferred to St. John's Lutheran Church or Copperleaf Senior Living.

Curtis Vincent Jacobson was born on May 14, 1926, in Clinton, Minnesota, to Jonas and Hilda (Larson) Jacobson. In 1933, his family moved to a farm in St. John’s Township, where he attended District 45 School. He served in the U.S. Army for two years at the close of World War II, spending most of his service in Austria.

On June 28, 1952, Curtis married June Gunderson at Calvary Lutheran Church. They made their home on the Jacobson family farm in St. John’s Township, where they built a life centered around faith, family, and farming. Curtis officially retired at age 65 but continued to help his son, Brad, with farming for many years.

A devoted member of St. John’s Lutheran Church near Pennock, Curtis served on the church council, cemetery board, and managed the sound system well into his nineties. He was also active in his community, serving on the Kandiyohi Power Cooperative Board and as a St. John’s Township supervisor for many years.

Curtis had a deep love for Minnesota sports, especially the Twins. Known for his positive attitude, he was a dedicated husband, loving father, and an engaged grandfather who built meaningful relationships with each of his grandchildren.

He is survived by his six children: Brad Jacobson of Kandiyohi, Kay (Duane) Neal of Murdock, Lori (Keith) Kottke of Blaine, Michael (Jeanette) Jacobson of Raymond, Kent Jacobson of Pennock, and Sharon (Kevin) Mrzena of Willmar; 17 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are two sisters, Signe Rambow and Pearl Almquist, along with several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his beloved wife, June, in 2017; a daughter: Robin Narragon; a daughter-in-law, Rita Jacobson; a sister, Delores Magnuson; and three brothers, Arnold, Murray, and Orville Jacobson.
