Cynthia Weller Obituary

Cynthia Rose Weller, age 67 of Belgrade, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her  family on Saturday May 2, 2026. She endured a faithful and courageous journey through cancer. She left behind a legacy of love, kindness, and strength.

Cynthia Rose Weller was born on July 12, 1958 to Harold and Rita Walz in Richfield, MN. She attended St. Peters Catholic elementary school for a few years before attending Richfield Public Schools. In 1973 the Walz family later moved to Belgrade where she graduated at the top of her class from Belgrade High School in 1976. Following graduation, Cynthia attended St. Cloud Technical & Community College, earning her Associate’s Degree in Accounting.

Upon completion of college, Cynthia started an accounting job for Munsingwear for two years, then started with Fiberfab Inc. in Golden Valley, MN as a bookkeeper. She traveled back home on weekends. On August 16, 1980 Cynthia was united in marriage to Brian Weller at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church in Belgrade. Brian and Cynthia then started their farming career by Brooten MN, until 1989 when they moved their dairy farm to Belgrade where they continued to farm until 1998. They were very active in DHIA programs and were chosen to receive the Land O’ Lakes Outstanding Young Farmers award during their farming career. Once their dairy herd was sold, Cynthia’s love of farming and animals brought her to work for Anderson Farms in Belgrade for 27 years in their farrowing and breeding barns as their head breeder. In addition to working at Anderson Farms, Cindy kept her accounting career going and took on the position of City Clerk for the City of Lake Henry from 2012-2023. She was a leader and was very dedicated to all that she did.

Together they were blessed with four children: Tracy, Becky, Christa, and Todd. Cynthia was a devoted and loving mother whose greatest joy in life was her family. She is and was the heart of her home and led with love, strength, and compassion. Her children were her proudest accomplishment and she poured her heart into raising them. They were also blessed with 7 grandchildren who adored her. To her children and grandchildren- she was everything. A source of comfort, laughter, wisdom, and love. She gave endlessly and created a home filled with warmth and care. She will be remembered for creating a beautiful decorated home, her amazing traditional foods and games for each holiday, attending so many of her grandchildren’s events and loving all their interests, and always having welcoming arms that everyone felt comforted by.

Cynthia was a devoted member of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, where she helped teach   religious education when her children were young. She also headed up the church decorating committee for nearly 30 years. She found joy in interior decorating, farming, gardening, flowers, and cooking. Above all else, her greatest love was her kids and grandchildren.

Cynthia is survived by her husband, Brian; her children: Tracy Kampsen (KC), Becky Weller (Danny), Christa Steenholdt, and Todd Weller (Kasi); her grandchildren: Gavin, Noah, and Averie Kampsen, Emmitt Steenholdt, Ryder, Raycer, and Wrenley Weller; her mother, Rita Walz; her siblings: Debbie (John) Bednark, Dennis (Shanna) Walz, Jackie (Jim) Weller, Sherri (Terry) Peterson, Susan (Pete) Terres, Mary (Brian) Kollman, and Stacy (Eric) Stalboerger; along with many extended family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father, Harold Walz; her brother-in-law, Dan Blomker; and grandparents Ben & Anna Herickhoff, and William and Rose Walz.
