Dale Maurice Nelson

 

Dale Nelson, age 84, of Lake Lillian, died Saturday, July 4, at Carris Health Therapy Suites in Willmar.

 

 

 

A private graveside service will be held at Tromso Cemetery in Lake Lillian.  Arrangements are with Harvey Anderson Funeral Home in Willmar.

 

 

 

Dale Maurice Nelson was born February 13, 1936, in Lake Lillian, Minnesota, the son of Maurice and Deloris (Bomsta) Nelson.  He attended District 43 School and Atwater High School, graduating in 1954.  He was baptized and confirmed at Grace Lutheran Church in Lake Lillian.  On May 14, 1955, he married Kathleen Summerlet and to this union two children, Lori and Gary, were born.  In 1954, Dale started trucking locally for the cookie company.  He later went over-the-road trucking for Donnelly, Pennzoil, and Silver Express.  Dale enjoyed fishing, snowmobiling, and attending country music festivals.  He also enjoyed spending winters in Arizona for many years.

 

 

 

He is survived by his children: Lori Deadrick and Gary Nelson (and Joyce Schiele); four grandchildren: Ashley (and Jeremy) White, Allison (and Joseph) Remark, Jordan Nelson, and Jeremy Nelson; three great-grandchildren: Freya White, Odin White, and Rocky Remark; a sister: Constance (and Larry) Bettenhausen; and other relatives and friends.

 

 

 

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife: Kathleen in 2013; and a brother: Wayne Nelson.
