Daryl Quisberg Obituary

Daryl Quisberg, 68, of Spicer, died Thursday, September 30, 2021, at Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis.  A visitation for Daryl will be 5:00-7:00 p.m. Friday, October 8, at Johnson Funeral Home in New London.

Daryl Jerome Quisberg was born February 6, 1953, in Belgrade, Minnesota, the youngest child of Clarence and Mildred (Bengtson) Quisberg.  He grew up on the family farm north of Sibley State Park near New London, and attended country school and later New London-Spicer High School, graduating in 1971.  On February 16, 1982, he married Judy McBroom in Watertown, South Dakota, and two sons, Brody and Wade, were born to their marriage.  They later divorced.  Daryl worked in construction his entire working life. He started by building pole barns for Menards after high school and later operated his own construction company, Quisberg Construction, for many years.

Daryl enjoyed hunting and spending time outdoors, whether at his home on Ringo Lake or returning to the family farm.  He was a member of the Isaac Walton League and taught gun safety to youth.  He also enjoyed having breakfast at Hillcrest or Westwood Café and supper at the American Legion in Spicer.

He is survived by his two sons: Brody Quisberg of Willmar, MN and Wade (Melissa) Quisberg of Spicer; three grandchildren: Ava, Isla, and Jase; four sisters: Marilyn (Donovan) Johnson, Maxine (Dennis) Anfinson, Ardyce Hegstrom, and Judy (Dave) Nelson; and fifteen nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister: Joyce Strootman.
