David Kent Mohs, 68, of Willmar, passed away peacefully in his sleep on December 12, 2024. His celebration of life will be at 1:00 pm, Friday, January 24th at Living Hope Evangelical Free Church in Willmar. Visitation will be one hour prior to his service. David Kent Mohs was born October 24, 1956, to Donald and Delores (Aasgard) Mohs in Willmar. He grew up in Willmar, where he lived most of his life. David attended Willmar High School, graduating in 1974. David's incredible voice and quick wit lent themselves perfectly to being the lead vocalist for local rock and country bands of Dead Chicken Woof, Hands Down, Travis, Big Al, and The Doc Holliday Band who warmed up national headliner acts such as Steve Warner and Shenandoah. The band also performed several times at the We Fest. David worked for several hotels in management roles in the Twin Cities, San Antonio TX, and Bettendorf IA. David returned to Willmar and worked in various management roles for TPI Corporation. Most recently, David had been working at Willmar Trading Post. David enjoyed playing music and golfing.
David is survived by his sons: Ryan (Charity) of Eden Prairie and Jeremy (Kathy) Melby of Montana; grandchildren: Elaria and Iris; Ayla, Harper, Oakley, and Reagan; brothers: Daniel, Paul (Lisa), Tim (Gaby), and Jon; and nine nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father Donald, mother Delores, sister-in-law Nancy, and sister-in-law Tammy.
