Diane Sather, 67 of Willmar, went home to be with the Lord after her six-year battle with cancer on Tuesday, February 9th, 2021. The Celebration of Life will be hosted by her loving husband, of 44 years Randy Sather, on Monday, February 15th, at 10:30 am. There will be a visitation from 9:30 am until the time of the service at Willmar Assemblies of God.
Diane was born in Redwood Falls, MN on October 24th, 1953, to Henry and Delores Deike. Diane spent her childhood years in Marshall, Minnesota. Upon graduation, she moved to Willmar to attend vocational school and started working for First Federal Bank.
While living in Willmar, she enjoyed roller skating on the weekends in Spicer where she met her future husband of 44 years, Randy. The two were married on April 3rd, 1976. Together, they built a company, Sather Sheet Metal, where Diane managed the bookkeeping and finances for 23 years. She later continued her bookkeeping services at Lutheran Social Services, Willmar Bus Service and Walt’s Car Wash.
However, more than anything, Diane dreamed of being a mother. They suffered the loss of their first child, Michelle, at birth in 1980. They proceeded to fulfill their dream of having a family and were blessed by their three children and later nine grandchildren. Diane’s greatest joy was being a mother and a grandmother and her love for her children and grandchildren was unmatched. She never missed an event and was ready to support them in anything they pursued.
She is survived by her loving husband of 44 years, Randy Sather; her children: Jeremy and wife, Christine Sather; Randiann and husband, Ryan Doheny; Bobbi and husband, Josh Ottoson; her grandchildren: Ty, Trey and Tia Sather; Rush, Keira, Ria Doheny; Kyla, Kinley, Kora Ottoson; eight siblings and her father, Henry Deike.
She was preceded in death by her mother and her daughter. We know that she went to Heaven to meet with her Savior, Jesus Christ and other family members.
