Dianne Olson, 77, of Belgrade, died Thursday, July 23 at her Home in Belgrade. Her funeral service will be 11:00 am, Tuesday, July 28 at Crow River Lutheran Church in Belgrade. Visitation will be 5:00 – 7:00 pm, Monday at Johnson Funeral Home in Belgrade and continue one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Dianne Kay Olson was born on July 22, 1949, to A. Eugene and Doris (Mekosch) Howard in Estherville, Iowa. During her childhood, her family lived in several communities, including Fairmont and Glenwood, Minnesota. She graduated from Glenwood High School in 1968.
On September 13, 1969, Dianne was united in marriage to Anthony "Tony" Olson at St. John Nepomuk Catholic Church in rural Lowry. Together they were blessed with two children, Taunya and Ryan. The couple made their home in Glenwood before moving to Belgrade in 1972, where they raised their family.
Dianne devoted many years to caring for her family as a homemaker. Later, she worked as a waitress at Ideal Café and was employed at Hardware Hank in Belgrade. She retired in 2004 to care for Tony after he was diagnosed with cancer.
Dianne was a faithful member of Crow River Lutheran Church in Belgrade. She found joy in gardening, making handmade cards, working crossword puzzles, visiting the casino, and traveling with her daughter and grandchildren. Her beloved dog, Bhodi, also brought her great companionship and happiness.
Dianne is survived by her daughter, Taunya (Dave Gubrud); her grandchildren, Jessica (Matthew) Berg and Kenny (fiancée, Avery) Nolan; her great-grandchildren, Bailey, Tegan, Easten, and Emerie; along with other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Tony; her son, Ryan; her parents, A. Eugene and Doris Howard; and her brother, Danny Howard.
