Donald E. Doering of Willmar, MN died suddenly at his home on Monday, Oct. 5, 2020.  Don was born March 25, 1938 in Burke, SD.  Don was the youngest of 10 children born to Bill Doering and Beulah Sufficool Doering.  He grew up on the family farm in Gregory County where he attended a one room rural school.  As a young man he farmed with his father and also worked for the Gregory County Highway Department building bridges and running a caterpillar in the gravel pit loading gravel trucks.

On October 22, 1963 he married Avis Armfield.  Shortly after getting married Don purchased the farm he grew up on.  For the next 20 years Don and Avis lived on and worked their farm.

In 1983 Don and Avis retired from farming and moved to Burke, SD.  In Burke Don drove a school bus and also worked on various farms during the fall harvest seasons.

In 2005 Don and Avis moved to Willmar, MN where they attended the Willmar Bible Church.

Don loved the outdoors and always enjoyed pheasant hunting and rarely missed getting his deer.  Fishing from the boat on the Missouri River he could usually bring home the walleye and here in Willmar enjoyed catching panfish from the shore.

Don was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Beulah Doering, two sisters, Dorothy Shedeed and Darlene Delaney, seven brothers, Harle, Jesse, Gerald, Calvin, Bill, Bob, and Gayle.

He is survived by his wife, Avis Doering of Willmar, MN, his daughter, Doris Martinson and husband, Dave Martinson of Blaine, MN, granddaughters, Rachel Martinson of Fargo, ND and Sarah Martinson of Fargo, ND, and grandson Benjamin Martinson of Blaine, MN.
