Donald Kallevig Obituary

Donald Ordell Kallevig was called home to be with the Lord on July 26th, 2020 at the age of 87. Donald was born in Willmar, Minnesota, on November 13th, 1932. He graduated from Willmar High School and attended North Central Bible College in Minneapolis. Donald was united in marriage to Patricia Jean Schenck on July 6th, 1956. He was a devoted husband of 64 years to Patricia, his best friend and true love.  Local arrangements for his interment in Green Lake Lutheran Cemetery are with Harvey Anderson Funeral Home in Willmar.  www.hafh.org

Shortly after marrying Patricia, Donald was drafted into the United States Army and served for two years, primarily in Fort Bragg, North Carolina, home of the 82nd Airborne Division. After his honorable discharge in 1959, he began his career in the power tool business. During his tenure with Black and Decker he managed sales territories in Minneapolis, MN, Southern CA, Memphis, TN, Cleveland, OH, and Dallas, TX. In 1983 he accepted an opportunity to work for Skil Power Tool Company, which later merged with Bosch. Donald worked with Skil-Bosch until 1997 and retired as Director of Sales and Service. Shortly after his retirement, he and Patricia moved to Colorado Springs, CO, and got involved with ministry work at First Presbyterian Church.

Donald looked forward to spending time with his family annually in Palm Springs, CA, traveling, playing golf, hunting in the southeast, and exploring the art of fly fishing.

Donald was an example to those around him by demonstrating that working hard, being dedicated, and above all, fully devoting himself to the Lord was the path to a life full of purpose and joy. He was a kind, honorable and selfless man that always put others before himself. He loved his friends and family more than anything, and one of his greatest joys in life was being with his grandchildren.

His legacy, along with his wife Patricia, includes: two children, Brent Kallevig and Brad Kallevig; and five grandchildren: Austin, Addison, Aiden, Davin, and Braxton; and two sisters, Lowella Wold and Ruth Larson.

Donald was preceeded in death by his parents, Severin and Mathilda Kallevig; brothers: Marlin Kallevig, Omer Kallevig and Lowell Kallevig; and sisters: Alice Huisinga, Fern Eckblad and Eunice Huisinga.

Our love for you is infinite, and we will miss you beyond measure. We are honored to have been a part of your wonderful life and are grateful for the moments we spent with you. We will keep our memories close as we rejoice with you in your new home with Jesus. “Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God; believe also in me. My Father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am.” John 14:1-3 (NIV)
