Donna J. (Otto) Lang

Donna J. Lang, 88, of Eden Valley, died Saturday, September 19 at Meeker Manor in Litchfield. Her memorial service will be 11:00 am, Tuesday, September 22 at Grace United Methodist Church in Paynesville. Visitation will be 5:00 – 7:00 pm, Monday at Johnson Funeral Home in Paynesville. A time of sharing will begin at 6:45 pm. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at the church.  Burial will be at Ebenezer Cemetery in Paynesville. Arrangements are with Johnson Funeral Home in Paynesville.

Donna J. Lang was born August 21, 1938, to Harvey and Alma (Narragon) Otto in Paynesville, Minnesota. She attended Country School District 205 and later Eden Valley High School. After attending high school for a short time, Donna helped on the family farm.

On May 26, 1956, Donna was united in marriage to Roger Lang at Grace United Methodist Church in Paynesville. Together, they were blessed with six children: Beverly, Allan, Linda, Kevin, Keila, and Melody. The family made their home on several farms in the Eden Valley area.

Donna worked as a school bus driver for the Eden Valley-Watkins School District for 43 years. She also worked in the school kitchen and as a paraprofessional before retiring in 2015. Donna loved her job and especially enjoyed spending time with and helping the children.

Donna was a faithful member of Grace United Methodist Church. Her faith was very important to her, and she took great pride in passing those values on to her children and grandchildren. She was also a member of the Red Hat Society for 21 years, where she served as Vice Queen Mom.

Donna enjoyed traveling, fishing, watching game shows, playing cards, listening to music, snowmobiling, making cards for people, and spending time with her many friends. Most of all, she cherished her family. She especially enjoyed her grandchildren and loved every opportunity to spend time with them.

Donna is survived by her husband of 70 years, Roger; children, Beverly (Terry) Matson, Allan (Deb) Lang, Linda (Chuck) Hunter, Kevin Lang, Keila Lang, and Melody (Troy) Wolter; 12 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Harvey and Alma; and her brother, Dale Otto.
