Dorothy Ellen Klemmetson

Dorothy Ellen Klemmetson, 80, of New London, died Thursday, September 23rd at GlenOaks Care Center in New London. Her Celebration of Life service will be 10:00 am, Thursday, September 30th at Harvey Anderson Funeral Home in Willmar. Private burial will be at Burbank Cemetery in rural New London. Dorothy Ellen Klemmetson was born on April 6, 1941, in New London, the daughter to Archie and Elsie (Frisk) Walquist. She grew up in New London, attending elementary and high school, graduating in 1959. On September 13, 1963, was united in marriage to Byron Klemmetson, to this union they were blessed with two children. They made their home in Willmar. She was a member of Associations of Lutheran Congregations.

One of Dorothy’s passions were gardening, and helping her husband build their home together, she enjoyed cooking, baking, quilting, crocheting, needle point, bird watching, deer watching, fishing, Bingo, and babysitting.

Dorothy E. Klemmetson died on Thursday, September 23, 2021, at GlenOaks Senior Living Campus, she was 80. Dorothy is survived by her children: Michael (Sherrie) Klemmetson of Surprise, Arizona, Sherri (Dan) Riordon of Jacksonville, Florida; siblings: Alice (Bob) DeGrote of Raymond, Helen Peterson of New London, Robert Walquist of Willmar, Judith Breager of Leonard, North Dakota; five grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Besides her husband, Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents and in-laws: Ed and J. Helamine Klemmetson; brother, Leonard and Gwen Walquist, nephew Allen Brunsberg, sister-in-law, Norma Walquist, and brothers-in-law: Norman Peterson, Jim Breager, and Ellsworth Klemmetson.
