Eddie Braness, 47, of Willmar, died Sunday, November 2nd at his home. His memorial service will be at 11:00 am, Monday, November 10th at Assembly of God in Willmar. Visitation will be one hour prior to his service. Burial will be at Spicer City Cemetery. Arrangements are with Harvey Anderson & Johnson Funeral Home in Willmar, www.hafh.org

Edward Milton Braness was born on December 11, 1977, in Willmar, Minnesota, to Jim and Antoinette (Hanson) Braness. He grew up in Willmar, attending Willmar Public Schools and graduating with the Class of 1997. During his school years, Eddie was an active athlete, enjoying both hockey and baseball.

On March 6, 2022, Eddie was united in marriage to the love of his life, Diane Peppin, in a beautiful ceremony on Cocoa Beach in Florida. The couple made their home in Willmar, where Eddie began working as a barber at Pep’s Barber Shop before opening his own business, 1901 Barber Shop. He took great pride in his craft and loved connecting with people through his work—his chair was often filled with laughter, good conversation, and friendship.

Eddie and Diane shared a love for travel, with Florida and San Diego among their favorite destinations. Eddie was known for his quick wit and sense of humor, always ready with a joke or a smile to brighten someone’s day. He enjoyed snowboarding, golfing, and the occasional trip to the casino.

Above all, Eddie will be remembered as a devoted husband, proud dad, loving son and brother, and loyal friend. His kindness, humor, and warmth will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Edward is survived by his wife, Diane; children: Ethan Thompson and Bella Thomas; father, Jim (Carolyn) Braness; siblings: Michelle (Randy) Thomas, Becky Daly and Robbie (Toni) Braness. He is also survived by his step-children: Stella (Matt) Panella, Brett Welch, Jacob Welch; his nieces, nephews and other family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Antoinette and grandparents.
