Elizabeth “Liz” Ann Rundquist was born June 20, 1942, in Minneapolis. At the age of 3-months she was adopted by her parents Howard & Delilah (Erickson) Rundquist. She was welcomed home by her big brother Howard. Liz was raised in Dawson and graduated from Dawson High School. In 1963, Liz was united in marriage to Roger Johnson and together they had three children: Tim, Liisa and Amy. They resided in Willmar where Liz was a stay-at-home mom. She later worked at the Jefferson Elementary School where Tim, Liisa and Amy went to school.
Once all the kids were in school, she took a job in the school office. Over the years, Liz held various secretarial positions, her most recent was the Kandiyohi County Sheriffs Office. She loved her job and all her co-workers at the county. In August 1997, Liz suffered a brain aneurism that resulted in an early retirement.
Liz loved sports, with the Twins and Vikings being her favorite. More recently, she began following the Wild as well. She knew when game day was and always dressed for the team playing that day. Liz loved music, playing the flute, and singing. She also had a love for animals, especially cats.
Liz was a loving mom and grandma and always made time for her family. She was a hard worker, who never asked for help.
Surviving are her children: Tim (Cindy) Johnson of Kerkhoven, Liisa (Walt) Padgett of Arvada, CO, and Amy (Cory) Bonnema of Prinsburg; grandchildren: Hannah (Tim) Rickert, Jessica (Adam) Waldermarsen, Christian (Taylor) Padgett, Sam (Shawee) Johnson, Chloe (Jeremiah) Vogt, and Nick Bonnema; and 10 great-grandchildren.
